More than 60 flights per week arrive at North Cyprus airport Ercan during the summer. There are 15 flights from three airports of London; Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow. Most of them arrive in the evening, North Cyprus has direct air links only with Turkey, where all planes from Europe must first touch down.From Turkey, you can choose from a number of scheduled flights from Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, Adana and Antalya.BY BOAT: There is a fast ferry service three times a week throughout the year between Alanya and Girne (Famagusta). Also a fast ferry boat linking Tasucu and Gime(Kyrenia) during at all seasons and a new boat link has been established during the peak season between Alanya, Antalya and Anamur to Girne (Kyrenia) you are advised to reserve your places before departure.LANGUAGE:THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE in North Cyprus is Turkish. English is commonly spoken.MUSEUMSDURING THE SUMMER PERIOD (May to October) the museum opening hours vary, therefore it is advised that you contact the Museums and Antiquities Department (00 90 392 22 72 916) for information. During the winter months the opening hours are as follows:9 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 4.45 pm.The museums are closed on bank holidays.SHOPPING IN NORTH CYPRUS is very enjoyable. Salesmen are welcoming but discreet. Objects made of copper, silver, bronze and onyx, Turkish dolls, meerchaum pipes and tavla boards are easily found in souvenir shops. Gold jewellery, leather clothes and textiles are sold at reasonably cheap prices.Prices being fixed there is no bargaining in Cyprus. The majority of shops are open between 8 am - 1pm and 3.30 pm to 8 pm, except the market places which are open only in the mornings. Unlike other Mediterranean countries, Cypriot craftwork, apart from potteries, is not intended for tourists. You will need to look for them in specialized shops. Public transport service is reduced after 6 pm and during the week-end.GIRNE (KYRENIA )THE PORTOFKYRENIA is undoubtedly one of the most enchanting sites of the oriental Mediterranean. The marina is bordered by old Venetian houses, restaurants and taverns. It attracts numerous colourful fishing boats as well as elegant yachts. Founded by the Myceneans towards 1600 BC, the town was protected by the construction of a fortress undertaken by the Byzantines in the 9th century,continued by the Lusignans and then by the Venetians.

CTA Cyprus Turkish Airlines (KTHY) Flights:CTA was founded in 1974 and currently operate a fleet comprising two A310's and three B737's. Flights from UK are direct to Ercan but touch down en route in either Izmir, Dalaman or Antalya but passengers to Northern Cyprus stay on the plane.Flights to Northern Cyprus depart from London (Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick), Manchester,Glasgow and Belfast.Flights operate to Ercan which is the airport in Northern Cyprus.
